Important Message from
West Virginia State
Director of CHURCH ACTIVITIES
Deacon Helgi Nelson
Diocesan Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC on September 16, 2017.
Please join your fellow Sir Knights in the procession for Holy Mass with our Bishop and clergy from throughout the great State of West Virginia.
As your State Church Activities Program Director, I request that you announce this request to your members through normal communications channels and at your next meetings.
Please request that those sir knights who will attend this pilgrimage, bring their regalia for Mass?
Three years ago I was able to join our brothers in the procession during Mass.
This year as your newly ordained deacon, I will participate with you as a member of the clergy.
I know the bishop loves our order and at the last pilgrimage, he made time to personally thank us for the color corps participation at Mass.
A second request would be to contact me with the names of the members that will attend in regalia. I have received permission from the diocesan office to have as many sir knights as possible for the color corps.
Please contact our brothers and get some commitment for this wonderful event.
If we could get at least two members from each of the 19 assemblies, we would have a color corps of 38 knights. That would be a wonderful vision for our state.
